Red sofas...

Ok, here they are, the red sofas with which I must match a color to my walls. They are a ruby red (or poppy?) not sure exactly but a very vibrant color none the less. I would like to warm up the room, it gets a lot of sunlight so it is bright and sunny and I would like it to be more welcoming. Please tell me what you think. oh, and the curtains came with the house - hubby hates them but they match better than anything I can figure out to go with them. Any ideas? think design on a dime :)

I'm staying home today....I've been at the Pediatricians twice in 5 days. I just haven't posted that on my blog. It's cloudy here today, but probably in the 70's already. I was outside for my moring walk a little after 6:30AM and it already had a muggy feeling to it.

The SleepyTime Extra has Valerian in it. Not sure what that is...maybe I'd better google that! lol

Warm khaki is my vote, like coffee with lots of creamer in it. I used to stage houses and we would suggest that you paint the color you are thinking of on a very large pc of cardboard or posterboard (not the wall itself) and move it around the room at different times of the day to be sure it's the right color. Also, people are afraid of darker/warm color but the first thing they usually say when they paint a beige/taupe color is that they wish they would have gone a bit darker. Good luck!

I definitely agree with a taupe, but not too light. That would look great with the red, but also goes well with other colors.

Hi there,
First time posting, and just HAD to add my 2 cents here since I think I am a designer disguised as a teacher.hehe A warm rich earth colour on the walls would look great, and as for your drapes they are a tad short, what about finding a red material that matches your couch and adding a band on the bottom. I would suggest you add a wide band of red and bring those drapes to the floor or draping on the floor.
I love your couches too.

Oops! Just had another gander at your room. Forget the idea of the band of red....won't look right with the valance colour. I still vouch for the warm earth tone on the walls though.
